BTS's music video for "Idol" has officially surpassed Taylor Swift for most-viewed video within 24 hours on YouTube, producing over 56.2 million views within the first day of its release. The record was previously held by Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do," that was unveiled during the MTV Video Music Awards last August, which produced 43.2 million views in its first 24 hours. According to Soompi, the feat also marks BTS' all-time most-viewed video within 24 hours: Their May video for "Fake Love" previously secured 35.9 million views within its first day of release. "IDOL" is the first Music Video to come from BTS' new repackaged album Love Yourself: Answer, the third project in their Love Yourself series. The visuals cover a lot of ground in three minutes, featuring tons of colorful animation, references to the group's Korean heritage, and, of course, their signature, hi-energy choreography.
