The Backstreet Boys and Steve Aoki have revealed they're releasing new music, a song titled "Let It Be Me," on Friday, Sept. 6.
The collaboration was announced Monday night (Aug. 26) on the artists' social media pages, where they shared a poster-worthy photo of all six of them -- Aoki alongside Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, AJ McClean, Nick Carter and Brian Littrell -- and some bandmate banter. "Introducing the 6th Backstreet Boy," the group wrote on Instagram. Aoki commented on the post that he's "honored. "Can’t wait to drop this," he added. On his own Instagram page, Aoki, who had hinted at a potential collab last year, teased the news as well: "Can I be the 6th member?"

August is now a sad month for me. It's the month when a good friend of mine had a stroke and now he can't even hold his phone so I had no idea how to communicate with him. I miss talking to him everyday. He says nice things to me. He gives me hope. Without his kind words, I would have given up on life already. He has a way of explaining to me that some things I worry about a lot are not really significant. I should focus more on what I really want to happen and listen to my heart more. I wish I can say the same things to him now. I don't think he is conscious.
