Michael Ketterer who finished in 5th place on this season's "America's Got Talent" has been arrested for felony domestic violence. Ketterer was taken into custody Thursday afternoon by the LAPD in Hollywood. Law enforcement sources say he got into a fight with his wife, and when cops showed up they noticed she had a visible red mark. He was cuffed and booked for a felony because of the injury. Ketterer was released after posting $50k bail. Michael told TMZ the arrest was a big "misunderstanding." He admits he and his wife got into an argument in their hotel room and cops were called, but she told them she didn't want to press charges. Ketterer says they arrested him anyway, telling him the law's the law. Law enforcement sources say the case will be downgraded to a misdemeanor because the injury was so minor. The 5th place finisher on season 13 of 'AGT' made headlines when Simon Cowell hit the Golden Buzzer during his audition, which advanced him right to the live shows. He later moved Cowell to tears during his quarterfinals performance after revealing his wife and daughter almost died during childbirth.

Drake was scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday at American Airlines Arena with Migos but sources say those shows will be moved to another date. It is being reported that there's an issue with production. Several dates were pushed back earlier this year or canceled altogether. A tour bus used for the crew was also towed before opening night in Kansas City. Not all is bad with the tour, which has had its bright spots, including a guest appearance from Meek Mill where the two squashed their long-running beef. Drakes appearance Saturday night at E11EVEN Miami and Sunday night at LIV have been canceled as well. The Miami dates will be made up on November 13 and 14. Liam Payne released the new video for 'First Time' featuring French Montana, on Thursday (September 20). It features Liam walking through the streets of New York City at night, trying to connect with a mysterious woman. He also wanders around the subway stations and drives around in a classic car with French before meeting up with the woman at the end. “First Time” is the title track off Liam‘s debut EP.
Dinah Jane is back with new music
The 21-year-old singer just released her new song “Bottled Up” – her first solo project since Fifth Harmony split up. “YEEEEEE ? go on head and live your best life for me with this one ?????????,” Dinah tweeted after the song was released. “Bottled Up” marks Dinah and Ty’s second collaboration, following Fifth Harmony’s 2016 hit single “Work From Home”; however, Dinah claims she wanted to work with the Beach House artist even before that record was completed. I remember hearing a record of his (Bassy), ‘That’s Love,’ featuring Ty Dolla Sign. I was such a fan. And this was right before we did ‘Work From Home’,” she told Music Choice last week. “[…] I remember just loving their voice, and how it just moved me as an artist.” She continued: “I remember being in the studio with Marc, and he was just like, ‘So what’s your vibe? Where do you wanna go with this? You wanna just make hits or do you wanna go global?’” Dinah recalled. “I was like, ‘I wanna go global. I want a global record […] I love this record a lot […] It’s been a year or two... and I feel like because it’s such a bop to me, it can be a bop to other people, as well.” You can download Dinah‘s new song off of iTunes here. Bruno Mars is keeping his word when it comes Cardi B honoring her every night on his tour with a drum solo. Cardi said she needed more time to adjust to motherhood. She also said doctors told her it wouldn't be a good idea to bring baby Kulture on the road so she quit the tour. So far, he's played just over a handful of shows on the 24K Magic World Tour, which Cardi pulled out of last month. Even though she's not there, Cardi's huge hit, "Bodak Yellow," is featured every night when Bruno himself gets behind a drum kit. Earlier this week, he played in Philadelphia the tribute included Cardi's voice and track with Bruno's 90-second solo and an epic light show. Bruno sent a message to Cardi after her announcement, saying he completely understood putting family first and promised to play "Bodak Yellow" every night in her honor. He’ll headline the “America’s Got Talent Live” stage show in Las Vegas Nov. 2-4. Suge Knight has entered a plea of no contest to the charge of voluntary manslaughter and will receive 28 years in prison.
The 53-year-old admitted to using a weapon when he rammed his Ford F-150 into two men following an argument on the set of the film Straight Outta Compton. Terry Carter, 55, later died of his injuries. The incident took place in January 2015, and Suge has been awaiting trial for two-and-a-half years since then. He will reportedly be credited for that time spent in prison—meaning that will be deducted from the 28 year sentence. The further repercussions of his plea deal are that he will be on probation for three years after being released. The judge also informed the former Death Row Records CEO that there is a possibility he'll be deported after being convicted, which Suge apparently found funny. "So, ICE can come and get me," he reportedly said in court to a chorus of muted laughs. A lot has happened since Suge has been awaiting trial. His mother died, and he was refused permission from a judge to attend her funeral. He was also rushed to the hospital back in April after suffering from an unknown health scare. Spotify will Allow Indie Artists to Upload Music Directly to Service, Bypassing Distributors9/20/2018 Starting today (Sept. 20), Spotify will begin allowing a select group of independent artists the ability to upload their music directly onto the streaming platform through their Spotify For Artists account, the company announced. The program, which is launching in beta format, has been quietly tested with a small group of artists — including Noname, Michael Brun, VIAA and Hot Shade — and will be made available by invitation to "a few hundred U.S.-based independent artists," according to a blog post, with more artists able to sign up for a mailing list to receive invites in the coming weeks or months.
For those artists who control their copyrights and do not have label or distribution agreements in place, they can log into their Spotify For Artists account, upload their music, fill in relevant metadata information, preview how the upload will look on their page and set the song to go live at a pre-scheduled time. "We've focused on making the tool easy, flexible and transparent," Spotify For Artists' senior product lead, creator marketplace Kene Anoliefo tells Billboard. "There will be no limit or constraint on how often they can upload. We think that can open up a really interesting creative space for artists to begin sharing their music to their fans on Spotify." Through payment-processing provider Stripe, Spotify will facilitate royalty payments, which will be accounted each month. In an email, a rep for Spotify clarified that artists who directly upload their music will receive 50 percent of Spotify’s net revenue (the service will also account to publishers and collection societies) and will keep 100 percent of royalties on that music. Artists will be able to track historical payments, as well as see projections for future payments, and track when those will be deposited in their bank accounts. "One of the things we've heard from the tests is this level of transparency really helps artists be able to plan and budget for the future as well as connect their overall performance on Spotify -- how their music is performing, how their fans are discovering their music -- using all those existing tools along with these additional tools to release music and get paid," Anoliefo says. "There's not that much information needed other than the music and the metadata associated with it, and then we'll take care of the rest." What this new tool would do is effectively allow indie artists to bypass traditional digital distributors when uploading to and collecting royalties from Spotify. Previously, in order to get music onto Spotify (or most other digital streaming services), artists would have to go through a distributor like DistroKid, CD Baby, TuneCore, Record Union or EmuBands. (Labels either have their own distribution arms, or can use services like the Orchard.) DistroKid, for example, also allows those it distributes to collect 100 percent of royalties and earnings, accounts monthly and allows unlimited album and song uploads, all for $19.99/year — and, as a preferred distributor, gives its users instant access to Spotify For Artists. Services like TuneCore and CD Baby generally charge a flat fee per album or single, with additional options for publishing administration and social media services, for example. But those distribution companies service all streaming services and digital download stores on a global basis. Now, through Spotify For Artists, copyright-owning indie musicians would be able to do all that on Spotify alone, for free, through Spotify For Artists, with all the data that Spotify would provide to the distributors available directly to the artist via their own dashboard. For convenience’s sake, it’s a one-stop shop to check streams, fans, royalties and payments coming from the world’s largest streaming service. SOURCE: BILLBOARD Kelly Clarkson Syndicated Talk Show Set For Fall 2019 Launch On NBC Stations, Replaces Steve Harvey9/19/2018 Kelly Clarkson will get a daytime syndicated one hour talk show series set for next fall.
The show is getting a prime slot on the NBC stations where it will air as the lead-in to daytime anchor Ellen in all but one market. That is a time period that had been occupied by a Steve Harvey talker for seven seasons now, first Steve Harvey and currently Steve. It is not clear what will happen to Steve, produced by IMG Original Content, which replaced the Endemol Shine North America-produced Steve Harvey starting last fall. It is being distributed by NBCU TV Distribution but I hear the company has been telling stations it would no longer handle it. IMG could take it elsewhere, and I hear that the company has had preliminary conversations. In the new incarnation under new ownership structure, Steve, which relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles, is pretty expensive, which could make finding a new home challenging, but I hear IMG intends to continue with the show. Neither Steve nor Ellen are produced by NBCUniversal, while The Kelly Clarkson Show is. It is the first first-run syndication series developed after the fall 2016 restructuring at NBCU, which saw NBC head of alternative Paul Telegdy take over the first-run syndication division. There are clear synergies — it was Telegdy and his unscripted team that recruited Clarkson for NBC’s The Voice, first as a part-time advisor on Season 13 and then as a coach since the most recent Season 14. (She also is set for cycles 15 and 16). She was a standout on The Voice, leading to a talk show pilot, which was shot this past summer. The new daytime talker starring Grammy-winner Clarkson is described as a fun, energetic show that breaks with tradition. Each episode will feature stories, celebrity guests, surprises, humor and music. “I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” Clarkson said. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!” Other stations from the NBC Station Group that will air The Kelly Clarkson Show as a lead-in for Ellen include WCAU Philadelphia, KXAS Dallas-Fort Worth, KNTV San Francisco, WRC Washington DC, WTVJ Miami, KNSD San Diego and WVIT Hartford. The new show will also air in Boston on NBC-owned station WBTS in a different slot. The 11 NBC owned stations cover nearly 30% of U.S. households. “We are very excited to have Kelly Clarkson on our air next fall,” said Valari Staab, President, NBCUniversal Owned TV Stations. “She’s genuine, warm, fun and interacts with her fans in a meaningful way. She will be the perfect companion to Ellen, providing an afternoon of great television.” From Los Angeles, The Kelly Clarkson Show is produced and distributed by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution. Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock are executive producers. |
