BTS is is often recognized by intricate and complex choreography . The K-Pop Phenoms just released a practice video showing off there awesome moves. BTS busts out their synchronized dance moves while introducing some new key choreography to their title song “DNA.” Charles Bradley, part of the Daptone Records stable of musicians who brought the sounds of ’60s soul into the 21st century, has died at the age of 68.
A message posted this afternoon on his Facebook page read, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Bradley. Mr. Bradley was truly grateful for all the love he’s received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.” He was diagnosed with stomach cancer a year ago, and Billboard said that last month that he learned that it had spread to his liver. After receiving the news, he canceled the remaining 37 dates on his 2017 calendar. Like fellow Daptones singer Sharon Jones, who also succumbed to cancer, Bradley achieved stardom late in his life. Born Nov. 5, 1948 in Gainesville, Fla., he moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., when he was eight. Six years later, his sister took him to see James Brown at the Apollo Theater in Harlem and has was instantly inspired by the Godfather of Soul’s music and dynamic stage presence. But his music career got off to a slow start, instead working for years as a chef in Maine before eventually settling in California. He spent the next 20 years doing odd jobs and playing small clubs to get by, before returning to New York. Calling himself “Black Velvet,” he developed a James Brown impersonation act that he called “Black Velvet,” which eventually got the attention of Daptones founder Gabriel Roth. He began recording singles for Daptone as early as 2002, and many of those, and other tracks, were compiled in 2011’s No Time for Dreaming, and he quickly became a favorite on the festival circuit, bringing all those moves he learned from studying James Brown to a new generation. Victim of Love followed in 2013, the same year that a documentary about his life, Charles Bradley: Soul of America, came out. The final album released in his lifetime, Changes, arrived last year. That record gained recognition for its title song, a soulful re-working of the Black Sabbath ballad. While supporting his debut, he told the Chicago Tribune that his late-life success was due to his belief that “somewhere, somehow God will hear your cry,. I think that he touched the right people’s heart that believed in me and gave me a chance to come out. I’m so grateful there’s people that believe in me and want to hear more about me. This is a whole new turning point in my life.”
Macklemore has returned with a new solo album, Gemini, which features appearances by Lil Yachty, Offset and Kesha.
This is first time in a decade that Macklemore has released music without Ryan Lewis, though the decision to work on solo music was amicable. Macklemore’s new project follows last year’s This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, though he told NPR that this record is a lot more fun. Music is something that can uplift, it can inspire, it can pull somebody out of a situation or a place in their life. Music is a tool to heal and it doesn’t need to just be spelled out what that healing should look like,” he told NPR of the album. “With this album I want to find a place of fun. I want to get back into the booth. I want to record everyday and I want to enjoy myself,” he continued. “There was such a density to the last album and there was so much processing around “White Privilege II” — which I think was really beneficial. It was really good to have deep conversations about race on a daily basis. It really pushed me in that way, as an artist and as a human and as someone fighting for equality. That was a huge part of This Unruly Mess. But with this album, I don’t need to convince anyone that Trump’s a racist. Trump has already either convinced you, or if he hasn’t convinced you, you’re a racist as well. Or, you’re not paying attention and you’re not going to pay attention to me, if that’s the case. People already have their mind made up and I didn’t think that I needed to make some political rap to try to uplift the world right now from Trump’s doing. I can do that in different ways.” Melanie Martinez just released the final visual installment off her off-kilter alt-pop debut, 2015’s Cry Baby, “Mad Hatter.” Teaming up with an adorable gang of wide-eyed Mark Ryden-esque stuffed animals (part precious, part nightmare fuel), the pop star delivers a dose of surreal, wonderfully deranged pastel pop creeps in the clip. Things are much tamer in “Whachu Know,” which features the young star standing in an open lot spittin' bars.

Chi Modu, known for his portraits of hip-hop artists, claims a merchandising company used his Pac pics without permission to produce a bunch of apparel. According to the docs ... the company then sold the shirts to Urban Outfitters and Macy's, which sold them to the public ... also allegedly without Modu's consent. Modu admits he had an agreement with the merchandising company to use his Tupac photos at one time, but it expired in July 2016. The photographer wants all the stores' profits from the shirts, along with damages. |
