It is being rumored that for the 25th film, James Bond film, Beyonce will record the milestone theme song.
Since 1964’s Goldfinger, the Bond film franchise has turned to some of the most celebrated recording artists for its iconic theme songs. Over the past 50 years, artists like Shirley Bassey, Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon and Adele have lent their talents to the spy franchise, with a number of those artists earning Grammy nominations for their efforts. Though it wasn’t until Adele’s epic 2013 ballad for Skyfall that Bond finally took home the gold, that’s reportedly one of the big selling points for Beyonce, who now has her sights set on 007. According to the Daily Star, Bond 25‘s producers have reached out to Queen Bey to see if she would be interested in performing the theme for the landmark movie. Sources close to the project have hinted this is something the singer is definitely interested in, and that Adele spoke with Bey before the meeting to give her insight into the process. For a short time, rumors hinted that Adele would return for the Bond 25 theme, making her only the second star aside from Bassey to record multiple Bond tracks. However, it now seems the producers want to go in a different direction to capitalize on Beyonce’s status and to keep the Grammy awards flowing like women weave in and out of Bond’s bachelor life. Adele did win a Grammy, an Oscar and a Golden Globe for “Skyfall,” so hitting that trifecta would certainly appeal to Beyonce. For as many musical awards as she’s won, the Golden Globe and Oscar have eluded her thus far. We’ll have to wait a while to see what happens with Beyonce’s involvement in Bond 25, especially considering the film isn’t slated to arrive until 2019.

The life and death of Bobbi Kristina Brown will be explored in a new television biopic produced by TV One. On Monday (Aug. 28), the trailer for the movie, titled Bobbi Kristina, was unveiled for the first time. Actress Joy Rovaris, who starred in BET’s The New Edition Story, will portray Bobbi in the telemovie. Fellow actress Demetria McKinney will play her mother, late pop icon Whitney Houston, and actor Hassam Johnson will play her father Bobby Brown. Bobbi Kristina, who was the only child of Whitney and Bobby, died in July 2015 months after she was found unresponsive in the bathtub at her home in Roswell, Ga. According to the medical examiner, Bobbi died from drugs and drowning. She was only 22 years old. In the trailer, we see Bobbi having a hard time dealing with her mother’s death and arguing with others about her relationship with family friend and soon-to-be boyfriend Nick Gordon, played by Nadji Jeter. “He’s the single best thing that’s happened to me since my mom,” Rovaris as Brown yells at her aunt Pat Houston, who is played by Vivica A. Fox. Gordon was found legally responsible for Brown’s death last year and ordered by a Georgia judge to pay $36 million to her estate. In another intense scene, we see Bobbi arguing with her mom to which Whitney screams, “you are the most beautiful thing I ever made.” At the end, we hear Bobbi say that “I have to carry on my mom’s legacy.” TV One’s Bobbi Kristina will premiere on October 8. The track's music video, unveiled at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, now holds the title of most YouTube global streams in a 24-hour period. That's 43.2 million views, knocking out previous record-holder Psy’s “Gentleman,” which had 36 million views in its first 24 hours when it dropped back in 2013. The "Look What You Made Me Do" video averaged over 30,000 views per min in its first 24 hours, with hourly views reaching over 3 million views. Swift also broke the same 24-hour record with Vevo, most recently held by Adele's 2015 video for "Hello" (27.7 million views in its first day). The song's lyric video already topped YouTube's first-day streaming record for lyric videos and the single set Spotify's global first-24-hours record. After leaving Epic Records in May, L.A. Reid will be launching a new entertainment company next year. The company will consist of both a record company and publishing unit. Reid is currently recruiting talent and executives, including former colleagues, for his new business.
Reid, who founded LaFace Records with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds in 1989, was responsible for talents such as Usher, TLC, Outkast and Toni Braxton. Reid's time at Epic came to an end after a former female assistant filed a sexual harassment claim earlier this summer. Earlier today (August 28), Selena Gomez‘s Instagram account was hacked. The hackers immediately posted nude paparazzi photos of the singer’s ex-boyfriend and fellow pop star Justin Bieber with the caption “LOOK AT THIS N—A LIL SHRIMPY.” The hackers were even bold enough to include their Insta handles in the caption, saying they “run da scene” — despite the fact that there were just a few thousand followers between the three. They also changed her account name to “islah gomez.” Selena deactivated her account within hours of the post, though reactivated it minutes later with the nudes deleted and name fixed. The photos were taken from a 2015 leak in the New York Daily News, which had at the time prompted Bieber to say he felt “super violated.” This fall, Whitechapel will embark on a North American tour to commemorate the 10th anniversary of The Somatic Defilement. Just days after releasing “Break Me Down” and “DAMN,” PARTYNEXTDOOR delivered two more songs.
The first track is “Put It on Silent,” a slow burning R&B tune that features PND conveying no emotions in an adulterous tryst with a woman who has a boyfriend. “I’ma keep goin’, keep goin’, keep goin’, goin’ / Even if your phone starts ringin’, even if your boyfriend trippin’,” he sings, adding, “There’s someone out there who got sympathy for your n—- / Not me.” The second song, the club-driven “Naked,” is a little bit more romantic as the OVO singer makes it clear of his intentions with a potential lover. “I don’t know why you do the things you do,” he sings. “Asking me questions like what I need and what I like / I’mma keep it real with you / I need you to get in there naked.” PARTYNEXTDOOR is having a phenomenal year so far. The 24-year-old crooner dropped his COLOURS 2 EP back in June, and appeared on Majid Jordan’s sultry tune, “One I Want.” Not to mention his “Freak In You” (Remix),” featuring his OVO boss Drake, is still a hot summertime ballad.
