Teyana Taylor Says Album Was Not Finished and Plans To Release "Completed" Version Of "K.T.S.E."6/27/2018 The recent series of Kanye West-produced albums are being dropped with a bit of controversy. Disorganized listening parties and last minute mixing for the projects became a regular occurrence, culminating in a particularly confusing rollout for Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E.
In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Taylor confirmed the album was incomplete, which led to the haphazard nature of its release. The G.O.O.D. Music singer said the completed version of the project will be released in the near future. “It’s just different levels of R&B on this album and then once y’all hear the album, like next week, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about because it’s way more completed,” she said about 10 minutes into the conversation. “It’s just crazy.” Big Boy asked Taylor why the release date wasn’t pushed back a week if it wasn’t ready. She characterized the whole situation as a misunderstanding. “Honestly, I think it was just more of a misunderstanding because Kanye know how much I been through,” she said. “The whole squad know how much I been through. So, I think it was more so of them making an executive decision of like damn, she been waiting for this moment. Let’s do whatever in this moment to make her happy, not realizing that I probably would have waited that [extra] week.” Taylor also revealed she wasn’t really kept in the loop on her album’s status. When it dropped, she was surprised by all of the missing content. “Like when the album dropped, I didn’t even know that much stuff wasn’t cleared,” Taylor said. “So when the album dropped and my friends woke me up like, ‘Yo, the album is out,’ I was excited. But, I was also like, ‘Wait, does that mean they were able to get everything cleared?’ It was really just an honest misunderstanding of me thinking maybe oh, some shit happened overnight.” Taylor hasn’t announced a release date for the completed version of K.T.S.E.
