Lana Del Rey just creepily (That may or may not be a word), announced her new record.
Lana transcends time and space in the entirely Twilight Zone-looking trailer for her new record, which touches on the same lyrical and visual themes of her lead single, “Love”: great uncertainty in these troubled times, retro-futurism, and a desire to assuage the fears of her fans. This record is for us. Also, she is definitely an unapologetic witch — and her powers seem to be working thus far. “I made my first four albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed,” Lana previously said of Lust For Life. It’s official: Lana Del Rey is going to save us all this year. Watch the Lust For Life album trailer, as well as the supplementary teasers on her Instagram, below. “You know, in this town, an artist really needs a lot of space when they’re trying to create something special. A place to cultivate a world of their own, far away from the real world that’s around them. Luckily for me, I live right inside the middle of the “H” of the Hollywood sign, and this is how I spend most of my nights, perched high above the chaos that swirls within the City of Angels below. Now don’t get me wrong, I love to dip my toe into the muck and the mires of the city every now and then — especially on Tuesdays. But truthfully, when I’m in the middle of making a record, especially now when the world is in the middle of such a tumultuous period, I find that I really need to take a space for myself, far away from real life, to consider what my contribution to the world should be in these dark times. So each morning, I have the luxury of asking myself, “What shall I cook up for the kids today? Something with a little spice? Something with a little bitterness, but is ultimately sweet? Or, shall I take the day off and turn down the fire and just take a moment to send my love to them over the ether?” Because sometimes, just being pure of heart and having good intentions and letting them be known is the most worthy contribution an artist can make. So, even though these times can feel a little bit crazy, they’re not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty, and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no other place I’d rather be than smack-dab in the middle of Hollyweird making this record for you. Because you, and the music, and this place, are my love. My light. My lust for life.”

Calvin Harris Recruits Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, And Ariana Grande For His Upcoming Single3/28/2017 Calvin Harris has just announced another major collaboration for his upcoming single. "Heatstroke" features Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, and Ariana Grande, as well as backing vocals from Starrah. Judging by it's name, the upcoming single could rival Harris's collaboration with Frank Ocean and Migos as a seasonal favorite. No release date has yet been announced, but find the artwork and credits for the upcoming single below. Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton from 1990 to 1996, shared an image of the show’s cast to Instagram last night (March 27) that finds Will Smith, Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian) and Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey) enjoying some beach views. Sadly, the image was missing one critical component of the show: James Avery, who died on New Year’s Eve 2013 after complications that stemmed from open-heart surgery. “Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete,” Ribeiro wrote 21 years after the show’s final episode aired, and fans of the show flooded his comments with adoration. Karyn Parsons, aka 'Hilary,' tells us the luncheon -- with Tatiana Ali, Alfonso Ribeiro, Will, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Joseph Marcell -- went down Monday at Nobu in Malibu. Karyn says her castmates broke bread with a family from England that won a charity auction. She says the money will support her organization, Sweet Blackberry, ... which makes educational animated shorts about African-American history. Britney Spears takin' her show on the road.
Today (Mar. 28), amid rumors and pre-sales in locations like Israel (L’chaimney!) and the Philippines, Britney announced that she’s heading out this summer to play some international shows. “Excited to be performing abroad this summer! ✨ More details available at http://britneyspears.com,” she tweeted. Of course, there’s nothing actually on her official website right now about the international dates, because she is a seductive woman of mystery and enjoys keeping her eager fanbase waiting for more (moah). Classic Britney. Britney will take the stage for the first time ever in Tel Aviv on July 3, after she travels to the Philippines to play a show in Manila on June 15. NBC and FOX are fighting to bring "American Idol" back. Both networks have submitted bids to FremantleMedia -- which owns the show -- and a decision could come as early as this week. Multiple sources familiar with the deal say NBC wants the show in part to resolve a 2 problems with "The Voice." One, the network doesn't want to oversaturate the market with the show, which airs twice a year, and that Adam Levine only wants to do 1 cycle a year, and 2 'The Voice has yet to make a "break-out" star. If NBC gets 'Idol,' it would rotate 'A.I.' with "The Voice" and each would air once a year. We're also told NBC has Ryan Seacrest as the favored host the second time around, and FOX would also entertain bringing Ryan back. Sources say the target date for bringing 'Idol' back is either Summer 2018 or mid-season 2019. FOX never gave up on the show, it just became way too expensive to produce with the talent costs of Ryan, J Lo, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. The reboot, we're told, would have a new panel of judges. In NBC's case they have deals with J Lo, Ryan, Harry already having there own shows and production companies under the corporate umbrella. Adele has announced it may be the last time she ever tours.
Adele first announced her massive 15-month world tour in December 2015, told a crowd at a rainy show at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium last night that her current concert series may also be her last. “Touring isn’t something I’m good at — applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable,” she said “I don’t know if I will ever tour again…The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour.” Adele, who began her tour in Northern Ireland more than a year ago, has since traveled across Europe, North America and Australia, and has engineered more than one proposal, tried her hand as a standup comedian and has been attacked by a bat. Adele then made fans laugh even as rain poured down in buckets. “I just spent two hours in hair and makeup for nothing,” she joked. “You poor things. It’s really raining isn’t it?” “Who wants to make a bet with me I’ll fall over at some stage…or get electrocuted by my microphone?” she added. We hope Adele is not serious or that she changes her mind at some point. Adele's tour wraps up this July. Demi Lovato is working on her follow-up to her 2015 record, returns this year in the form of a collaboration with DJ trio Cheat Codes. “I just want to dive in the water with you / Baby, we can’t see the bottom / It’s so easy to fall for each other / I’m just hoping we catch one another,” Demi coos on the cautiously optimistic ode, full of warm pulsations and beat drops perfect for soundtracking your next summer romance — and/or dance floor hook up. “Just be careful, love ain’t simple / Promise me no promises.” “No Promises” is expected to drop this Friday (Mar. 31). Listen to “No Promises” up top.
Fetty Wap got robbed early Sunday which sparked a shootout that sent 3 people to the hospital. Sources close to the ordeal say Fetty had a chain and cash snatched while he was in Patterson, NJ. Law enforcement sources tell us cops were dispatched to Montclair Ave and Paxton Street around 5 AM over a fight with shots fired. Sure enough, they located 2 guys nearby with gunshot wounds -- 1 was shot in the leg and another in his torso. A 3rd man thought to be involved checked himself into Hackensack Medical Center soon after. Fetty is not one of the victims. Law enforcement say an investigation is now underway for the shooting, but no robbery has been reported. It's unclear whether Fetty was directly involved in the shootout.
The man shot and killed at Cincinnati's Cameo nightclub early Sunday morning was named by police during a news conference. Obryan Spikes, 27, died in the shooting. At least 15 others were shot, and one of those people is in "extremely critical condition," Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac said. There were several others who were injured, as well. The shooting was reported just after 1 a.m. at Cameo Night Club on Kellogg Avenue in Cincinnati's East End. Police believe that multiple people fired shots. No arrests have been made. "The conflict is believed to have begun between specific groups or individuals earlier in the day, escalating and ultimately leading to this tragedy occurring at the nightclub," Cincinnati City Manager Harry Black said. Some of the victims were taken to area hospitals via ambulance, and others arrived via their own conveyance, police said. Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate said that several of the victims have life-threatening injuries. “We are in the middle of a very horrific situation that occurred at the nightclub with multiple victims,” Neudigate said. “It’s going to be a long night for our homicide units to investigate.” Neudigate said that police do not suspect that this was an act of terror. Neudigate added that hundreds of people were inside of the nightclub at the time of the shooting, and called it a “chaotic crime scene.” Police believe multiple shooters fired shots inside of the nightclub. “Many of them fled, unfortunately. Many of the witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed,” he said. One witness told WLWT News 5 that he heard the club's DJ call for security about 10 minutes before the shooting. Surveillance cameras were inside the club at the time of the shooting, police said. Neudigate added that Sunday morning’s shooting was one of the largest shooting cases that he has worked in his 27-plus years with the department. Of nine victims taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said two people are in critical condition and seven people are stable. Five of the seven stable patients are expected to be released soon. Two people were treated and released from Bethesda North Hospital, and two more are at Christ Hospital in stable condition. One person was treated and released at Mercy Anderson and another was treated and released at Mercy West. Cameo nightclub has had several issues in the past, authorities said. The club allows admission to anyone over the age of 18. “We are aware of it. It has had some challenges in the past,” Neudigate said. There were two shootings at the nightclub in 2015: one on New Year's Day, when someone was shot in the foot, and another in September, when a shooting victim was found in the parking lot. Police have not said whether anyone is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is helping Cincinnati police with this investigation. Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the shooting death, he tweeted Sunday. |
