90s R&B girl group 702 are returning to music following the in the (reunited) steps of New Edition, Xscape and SWV. In separate Instagram posts, Kameelah Williams, LeMisha Fields, and Irish Grinstead announced Wednesday the trio is reuniting and going on tour.
It has been 15 years since 702 released their last album Star on Motown Records, which produced the cult-classic hit "I Still Love You." The group was signed to Michael Bivins of New Editon's Biv 10 imprint through Motown. 702 debut on their labelmates Subway's single "This Lil' Game We Play" in 1995. After that single went gold, 702 went on to record their debut album No Doubt. The album went gold, and the group's self-titled follow-up, went platinum thanks to the success of "Where My Girls At?" No tour dates or new music have been announced yet, but looking at the group's Instagram comments they'll have no problem filling up their calendars with nationwide tour dates.
