The Black Eyed Peas Claim First Hot Latin Songs No. 1 With 'RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)' With J Balvin

As “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” hits No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Jan. 4), The Black Eyed Peas secure their first leader since the group’s first chart entry in 2006. 

“RITMO,” released on Oct. 12, crowns the tally in its 11th week after a six-week run in the top five. The track dethrones Bad Bunny’s four-week ruler “Vete.” Though all metrics for “RITMO” are up (sales, streams and airplay), it ascends mainly on the strength of streaming activity.

The Black Eyes Peas earned their first Hot Latin Songs chart entry in 2006 when “My Humps” debuted and peaked at No. 46. Since then it has secured seven other entries, “RITMO” being their first and only collaborative effort.

For J Balvin, who claims a total of 55 Hot Latin Songs entries, “RITMO” becomes his eighth No. 1 , back to March 2015 when “Ay Vamos” led the tally for one week.
