After a week of streaming, Cardi B’s debut album Invasion of Privacy is already breaking records, including the Apple Music’s record for most-streamed album by a female artist in its first week.
The album garnered over 100 million streams last week, which is more than doubled those of the previous record-holder, Taylor Swift with her project Reputation. Cardi’s album is now the fifth most-streamed album ever on Apple Music, passing The Weeknd’s Starboy and Ed Sheeran’s Divide.
Cardi will be the fifth female rapper in history to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 tally behind Nicki Minaj (twice), Eve, Foxy Brown and Lauryn Hill.
Cardi B joins an illustrious list of artists who managed to collect six top 10 R&B/Hip-Hop singles. Among them include Bell Biv Devoe, Chris Brown, En Vogue, Diddy and the late R&B singer Gerald Levert.
